Psalm 94:20 and A Prayer of Repentance

  1. Psalm 94:20 - Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, Have fellowship with You?

This is a very interesting verse. It suggests that God will not have fellowship with governments (thrones) that make sin legal by and through it's laws. Why would God have fellowship with such a government that makes the true Law of God of no effect by their man-made statutes and laws? They who call what is evil good, and good evil.

The following is the opening prayer of the Kansas Senate offered by Minister Joe Wright:

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those who call evil good', but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

  1. We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.
  2. We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.
  3. We have killed our unborn and called it choice.
  4. We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.
  5. We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.
  6. We have abused power and called it politics.
  7. We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.
  8. We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom
    of speech and expression.
  9. We have ridiculed the time honored values of our forefathers and called it
    enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Amen!"

  1. Isaiah 10:1-2 - 1 Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, 2 to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the fatherless.
